VAI PROJECTS

VRAAG & AANBOD INTERNATIONAAL (Supply and Demand International) is a charitable organization in the Netherlands that assists people in developing countries by providing used hand-tools and machines (which have been reconditioned), such as typewriters, simple sewing machines (hand or electric), wheelchairs, computers, hand tools for carpenters, masons, farmers, electricians, bicycle repairmen and motor mechanics.
VRAAG & AANBOD INTERNATIONAAL (VAI) supplies self-help groups, vocational training centres and registered development organizations.
To apply, you will need to describe your project through answering questions as described in our application form .

We, as one of the official intermediaries of VAI in Tanzania, receive applications from institutions and community groups. These applications are reviewed carefully, and once approved, they are forwarded to VAI. The VAI evaluation committee then studies each request and decides which of the requested items can be delivered, depending on availability. Throughout the process, we maintain close contact with both VAI and the applicants to ensure transparency and effective communication.

In 2025, we successfully received two containers in separate phases. In January, a 20‑foot container carrying 17 groups of items arrived, and in November, another 20‑foot container carrying 18 groups was delivered. Altogether, 35 groups in different sectors were reached. This program is organized annually to provide equipment to institutions and groups engaged in economic activities.

The schedule depends on the size of the container:

  • A 20‑foot container allows annual distribution to average of 15–20 groups.
  • A 40‑foot container typically serves average of 30–40 groups, but in such cases the program usually skips one year before the next delivery.

We emphasize that all institutions and groups must follow the established procedures and criteria in order to qualify for these resources, which are intended to strengthen economic development in our communities. Please note that custom clearance charges and all other local costs must be paid by the recipient.
