This project was implemented from 2014 to 2022 by Njombe development Office (NDO), ACRA-Italy and Studio Frosio(an engineering firm from Italy), and it was powered by Uropean Union. The stake holders of this project are Villages, District, Region, Lugarawa Hospital (Roman catholic Diocese of Njombe), REA, UNIDO.
GENERAL OBJECTIVES
The project had the following Objectives; increasing access to modern, affordable and sustainable hydro energy services thereby improving socio-economic and environmental conditions of the rural people in the 20 isolated villages in Ludewa.
ESTIMATED RESULTS
– The produced electricity was 1.7MW from new and old plant in Lugarawa.
– The natural resources of Madope Catchment area protected and sustainable farming practices are introduced.
– SMEs and social services have improved
– A sustainable business model designed
